Bernadette & Ernest – An Alaska Destination Wedding

During the summer of 2022, Bernadette and Ernest reached out to me for assistance in planning their dream wedding. The attraction of exploring Alaska, and their desire to celebrate their special day with 40 of their nearest and dearest, led them to having a destination wedding in Alaska. Our venue search spanned from Girdwood to Moose Pass to Seward, to try and find that perfect fit for them and ultimately selecting the dreamy, Raven Glacier Lodge (aka “my happy place”) in Girdwood, Alaska. Now, let’s delve into some highlights from this “Bridgerton” meets “Twilight” destination wedding! Overall Decor If you’ve visited Raven Glacier Lodge, you’ll recognize that minimal decor is…

    Lisa & Liam | Married!

When most people envision Alaska, they often picture snowy landscape, icy glaciers, pristine lakes, and vast forest. But guess what, Alaska boasts stunning beaches as well! So, if you’ve ever dreamed of exchanging your vows by the water, I can turn that dream into reality. Let’s take a glimpse into some of my favorite moments from Lisa and Liam’s beach side wedding held at Miller’s Landing in Seward, Alaska last June. THE CEREMONY ARCH It was love at first sight when I first laid eyes on this ceremony arch. Crafted by one of the bride’s brothers, it was made of driftwood and secured with sturdy rope. Then, Jodi from Wild…

    Ragen & Cole | Married!

As we’re well aware, Alaska’s primary wedding season typically takes place during the summer months. However, this year was a bit different for me, as I had three weddings in the spring. Springtime in Alaska is often associated with winter conditions, and this was the case for Ragen and Cole’s wedding. These two are avid adventure enthusiasts, embracing the great outdoors, especially during the winter. It was only natural that they chose to tie the knot in April, hosting a weekend celebration centered around their favorite winter pastime: skiing! Let’s take a glimpse into some of my favorite moments from this beautiful winter wedding held at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood,…

How to Elevate Your Wedding: The Magic of Wedding Bathroom Baskets

Having spent more than a decade as a wedding planner in Alaska, there’s one detail that never loses its charm for me – the wedding bathroom baskets. These little enhancements add a thoughtful touch for your wedding guests, making their experience even more enjoyable. What’s more, they’re incredibly easy to assemble, and they become a lifesaver when your wedding venue is nestled in a remote location, where the nearest grocery store might be a 20- or 30-minute drive away – a common scenario in Alaska. One of the most memorable examples that comes to mind is from Ragen and Cole’s wedding back in April. They opted for adorable little tubs…

    Kayla & Levi | Married!

Kayla and Levi came from warm and sunny Hawaii to get married in cold and snowy Talkeetna, Alaska in March! Levi is originally from Homer, Alaska, and Kayla is from Pittsburg. They both knew they wanted to get married in his home state and found this cute, little church camp to host their ceremony and reception. It was the perfect place for a destination wedding and to showcase Alaska! Bonus points because all their guests got to experience the Northern Lights later that evening after the reception! Let’s talk about some of the things I loved about this wedding: Hands down the tablescape that Kayla envisioned was one of my…

    Lorell’s Favorite Things 2022

As I sit here in the first week of January, I think to myself, “How is it already 2023 and where did 2022 go?” I had a whole list of weddings that I wanted to share from 2021 and was only able to do one post (insert faceplant emoji here)! And what about all the 2022 weddings and events that I wanted to feature as well? (Again, insert face plant emoji here)! There just are not enough hours in the day or maybe days in the year! So, I’m just going to jump right into my yearly favorite things/moments list, so let’s not waste any more time, shall we? Casey…

    Adrienne & Matthew | Married!

The 2021 wedding season was one for the books! Not only were there so many beautiful weddings, but a couple of long-anticipated ones too because of COVID. Adrienne & Matthew’s destination wedding was one of them. This California couple was supposed to get married in June of 2020 and ended up having to postpone to June of 2021. So, we were basically “dating” for two years, lol! As I sat here writing this diary entry, watching the wedding video, and looking through all the photos of the day, it brought a smile to my face, even a tear or two, happy ones of course! It took me back to the…

You didn’t think that I could go into 2022 without making a “Favorite Things 2021” list, did you? Unlike 2020 where my schedule was a little light on weddings, 2021 turned out to be hopping! It was so hopping that if I mentioned everything that I loved about wedding season 2021, we would be here until 2023! So to keep things simple, I am going to pick one thing/aspect from each of my weddings from 2021 to share with you all. So, let’s get started! We begin with Tony and Karen’s wedding in February of 2021at the Palmer Community Center in Palmer, Alaska. I had the privilege of being the…

    Liz & John | Married!

When I saw the 619 area code, I knew I had to book this wedding! Why do you ask? Well, 619 will always have a place in my heart, it’s San Diego baby! My home sweet home before I moved to Alaska. Liz and John decided to get married in July at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. It was a very small, intimate destination wedding with just close friends and family. A mountain top ceremony, with dinner for 11 outside under a tent, and live music from the Anchorage String Quartet and Jared Woods. So simple, yet so perfect! Let me highlight some of the things I loved about this…
